In 2015, I rode 1,300 miles on Route 66 from Rolla, MO (just outside of St Louis) to Flagstaff, AZ. In places where the original route still exists, I chose to ride, even though much of it is is poor condition. There are long stretches that no longer exist and the only option to make progress are the side roads or the interstate.
In Flagstaff, I headed south through Sedona and Jerome, AZ… making my way toward San Diego where I would be loading my bike on a ship for transport to Hawaii.
